CCEnhancer is quite a small utility that expands the list of programs supported by CCleaner, a very popular system optimizer.
The program has a streamlined interface, which nobody should have problems to use. In fact, a click on a button is all that is required to perform its only function. What CCEnhancer does is extremely simple. First, it downloads rules and definitions from various internet locations, mainly the Piriform forum, supported by the developers of CCleaner. Then, it incorporates them into the winapp2.ini, which is where CCleaner stores the data it needs to work properly.
All in all, despite the simplicity of the procedure, it seems to be quite effective because, according to the developers of CCEnhancer, it allows CCleaner to support more than 1000 additional programs. Of course, the effectiveness of the enhancement is difficult to evaluate, mostly because the changes are invisible to the common user. Moreover, there is always the risk of something going wrong. Actually, the developers do not take any responsibility and alert users that the entries created are not supported by Piriform.
